Artist and automobile enthusiast Tod Wallace is a California boy. Growing up in Southern California, he attended high school about a mile and a half from the beach. After graduating from Arizona State University, he took an art class at a local community college. This class began his interest in art. For many years it was just sketching, with a variety of subjects and interests.

As to his love for cars, Tod's fascination began when he was a boy. "I have been a car nut for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I had the opportunity to go to Lion's Drag strip quite often. Weekends at Lion's were legendary back then and drew all the big-name drivers and cars of the day. I remember seeing Don "The Snake" Prudhome, and the Woods Brothers, Tom "The Mongoose" McEwen, and more. I developed a passion for cars as a boy and like so many of us, it has stayed with me all of my life."

A few years ago, Wallace discovered a piece of software called Sketchbook. He started doodling around and began experimenting with this tool. "I like this tool, it truly is a sketchbook. It does not have all the editing tools other software has." The first year or so, he worked in black and white, producing some gorgeous pieces. He began thinking about working with color and started to experiment with various methods. From those experiments come the art you see today.

He is also now starting to experiment with some other creation tools. But sticking to his roots and creating art the "old-fashioned" way with modern tools.
